With over 125 years of experience and a strong supplier & logistics network, we can fulfil almost any customer requirement at the best possible terms.
We procure products that our customers cannot access themselves – for example due to minimum order quantities or geographical restrictions.
Our goal is to offer a simple, fast and modern one-stop purchasing solution that keeps administrative effort to an absolute minimum.
A Tradition from Lübeck
| 1897 | Wilhelm Vageler founds Vageler & Co together with two limited partners in Beckergrube, Lübeck. The focus is wholesale trade in household goods and ironmongery. Within the first few years, contacts are established with companies in Finland and the Baltic states – shifting the focus to the entire Baltic region. |
| 1914 | Johannes P. Christiansen becomes a personally liable partner. |
| 1919 | The warehouse at Alfstr. 36 is purchased for 45,000 Reichsmark and the company headquarters is relocated there. |
| 1922 | Following Wilhelm Vageler's death, Johs. Christiansen becomes sole owner. The company is renamed Vageler & Christiansen KG. The product range continues to consist of household goods, garden tools and ironmongery. |
| 1945 | World War II and significant losses through reparation payments bring difficult times. The economic situation does not recover until the mid-1950s. |
| 1961 | Following Johs. Christiansen's death, his son-in-law Karl-Gerd Roth takes over the company as Vageler & Christiansen. In the late 1960s, the decision is made to shift the product range to tools for industry and the trades. |
| 1983 | Karl-Gerd Roth übergibt die Geschäftsleitung an seinen Sohn Henning Roth. About Us zieht ins Gewerbegebiet Glashüttenweg, Niels-Bohr-Ring 12 A. |
| 1989 | Die Personengesellschaft wird in die Vageler & Christiansen GmbH umgewandelt. About Us entwickelt sich zu einem wichtigen Lieferanten für den europäischen Ostseeraum. |
| 2017 | Henning Roth steps down from management. Mathias Langer is appointed as the new Managing Director. |
| 2019 | Mathias Langer acquires Henning Roth's shares and leads the company into the digital future – with the online shop vachri-shop.com. |
